SPECIALTY COURTS CASE MANAGER
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assessing clients’ needs and support systems.
- Planning for crises and helping clients develop coping mechanisms.
- Coordinating and monitoring of the client’s use of these services
- Coordinate and provide care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and client centered.
- Handle assigned cases, draft service plans, and review case progress
- Facilitate multiple care aspects (case coordination, information sharing, etc.)
- Act as a client advocate regarding their clinical status and treatment options.
- Develop effective working relations and cooperate with Specialty Courts teams throughout the process.
- Keep track of client progress.
- Record case information, complete accurately all necessary forms including court reports.
- Assess and address motivational and psychosocial issues.
- Adhere to professional standards as outlined by protocols, rules, and regulations.
- Ensure referral and assessment process is completed timely
- Regular and reliable attendance
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree earned from an accredited college or university in relevant human services preferred
- At least one years’ experience working with clients with mental health disorders preferred.
- Mental Health Paraprofessional (QMHPP) preferred.
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor a plus
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Must be able to maintain helpful and professional relationships with the public, participants and families, attorneys, law enforcement officers, other office staff, etc. whether by phone or in person.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an incumbent encounters while performing the essential functions.
Incumbent will work in a team environment with all members of the Specialty Court team. The position will work directly with the Coordinator and Case Manager. The position will work in an office setting and also travel to other locations to meet with peers. The position will work directly with PEARL, Inc, the non-profit organization that supports the Specialty Courts.
The noise level in a typical office environment is moderate.
