Position is Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm with ability to work additional hours as needed.

Location: 6300 Nall Ave, Mission, KS.

Summary:

SUMMARY: Under the minimal direction of the assigned manager, the Business Banking Manager’s primary accountabilities are to manage the sales process using CFB4 principles and ensure micro and small business banking sales and service goals are achieved. In addition, the incumbent provides recommendations for policy decisions, product development, facilitates meetings and/or delivery of training materials. The Business Banking Manager leads a team that utilizes the bank’s available assets to maximize the generation of revenue, profits, deposits, plus other cross-selling opportunities. The incumbent must also protect the bank by providing continual supervision of the loans under his/her accountability. The Business Banking Manager is an active participant in civic and public relations activities that provides new business for the bank and further development of relationships with existing customers. The incumbent is active in marketing all bank loan programs and monitors existing accounts to ensure each account is properly serviced.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Using CFB4 principles, lead a team of associates to attract micro and small business banking customers to Arvest products and services and ensure that current micro and small business banking customers receive exceptional customer service.
  2. Provide effective implementation of and conformance to the lending policies of the bank, thus attaining the following objectives and goals through the generation of loans and credits to existing and new commercial /small business customers
    1. Maximize the bank’s revenues and profits.
    2. Through cross selling, generate the sales of other financial services.
    3. Minimize loan and credit losses; maintain same within a targeted level.
    4. Contribute to the expansion of the bank’s deposits.
  3. Work with the Branch Managers and frontline staff to assist and educate on Business Banking related topics.
  4. Set goals, track progress, measure and communicate organizational results.Identify sales trends, needs and develop solutions.
  5. Find niche market networking opportunities for associates to participate in.
  6. Respond to and resolve customer complaints and/or questions.Recommend and implement procedures to improve quality service to customers.
  7. Coordinates the delivery of small business loans with Small Business Underwriting and local credit departments. Coordinate with local bank marketing teams to align sales and marketing initiatives.
  8. Attend various officer meetings, peer group sessions, seminars, training programs, schools, etc.
  9. Keep abreast of current and new regulations.
  10. Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervise 2 or more associates as assigned by the Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Ensure direct reports have completed required compliance training and are adhering to all internal procedures and controls as it relates to bank policy, laws, regulations and Arvest’s BSA/AML Program. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates. The incumbent has the authority and the appropriate influence to make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other associates within the guidelines of the bank’s procedures and guidelines for such change of status events. The incumbent provides training, planning, assigning, and directing work assignments and schedules; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 5 years previous experience in business development and/or lending required.
  • A working knowledge of small business banking regulations and economic development in the community required.
  • Completion of CFB 4 training within 6 months required.
  • Knowledge of lending functions preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
