Position is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with the ability to work additional hours as project needs demand.
Incumbent should be located within the Arvest 4 State Footprint (AR, KS, MO, OK).

Job Title: Financial Risk and Controls Analyst
The Financial Risk and Controls Analyst supports the Director of Financial Risk and Controls in execution of Arvest’s program to ensure it has an adequate internal control structure over financial reporting (ICFR) in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act (FDICIA). The role of the Analyst will be to carry out activities to ensure financial statement risks are appropriately identified, controls are designed to mitigate related risk, and are operating effectively. The incumbent performs activities including ICFR planning, scoping, assessments, and reporting to comply with FDICIA. This highly visible position will work closely with the external audit, internal audit, enterprise risk management, compliance, business units, and risk and control functions within those business units.
What You’ll Do at Arvest: (Other duties may be assigned.)
• Support the Director of Financial Risk and Controls in planning and scoping financial reporting and business processes to ensure compliance with FDICIA, including evaluating the level of risk associated with financial applications and business processes, reviewing financial transactions, and reporting for Arvest’s various business processes, and determining level of risk and materiality to the Company.
• Evaluate and monitor the ongoing design and operating effectiveness of controls over financial reporting throughout the organization.
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify, design and document key controls, evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of the controls, and assess and evaluate control deficiencies.
• Assess control deficiencies as they are identified, evaluate the impact on financial reporting, and appropriately document and classify the severity of each deficiency in ICFR, escalating as appropriate.
• Work with process and business owners to mitigate risk or loss by proactively identifying, and correcting weaknesses in internal control.
• Support the Company’s strategic initiatives by serving as a resource to project teams to ensure adequate internal controls over financial reporting are properly identified, tested, and documented.
• Communicate with all levels of management and adjust the level of detail commensurate with the audience.
• Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
Responsibilities:
Toolbox for Success:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance, or accounting, or business administration, or relevant field or relevant military experience required.
• 1 year of experience in banking or a financial service role is required.
• Experience in external audit, SOX 404 compliance, or internal controls preferred.
• Knowledge of risk and controls standards, enterprise risk management and business process best practices preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and understanding of US GAAP.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, including written and verbal communication, especially in developing positions / preparing reports and presentations.
• Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.
