Incumbent should be located within the Arvest 4 State Footprint (AR, KS, MO, OK). Position requires availability Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm with flexibility to work additional hours as needed.

Job Title: Small Business Underwriting (SBU) Credit Administrator
The SBU Credit Administrator at Arvest develops and recommends small business loan policy, guidelines and procedures and assists with implementation. They collaborate with local bank Credit Administrators, Loan Managers, and Risk and Compliance teams to align efforts and achieve common Small Business Division goals. They analyze the loan portfolio, evaluate data, assess opportunities, and provide accurate, timely, and complete credit information across all regions.
Additionally, the SBU Credit Administrator provides leadership, guidance and mentorship to the Small Business Lending operations team and ensures consistent adherence to applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Their leadership will result in the growth of loans, profits, return on investments, efficiency of operations, and equitable benefits to the organization's customers, associates, and shareholders.
What You’ll Do at Arvest: (Other duties may be assigned.)
● Develop, test, and implement Small Business loan policy and procedures in response to evolving federal regulations and organizational objectives.
● Provide leadership and oversight of staff by ensuring associate is properly and adequately managed with clear expectations of policies, goals, strategies, and initiative.
● Develop, coach, guide and inspire associate to ensure optimal team and individual performance in support of short-term objectives and long-term succession needs.
● Provide guidance and mentorship to the centralized small business lending team.
● Monitor efforts to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the Uniform Application of Credit and adherence to Arvest Bank Group Loan Policy and Procedures
● Assess risk and ensure loans adhere to guidelines.
● Assist staff with structuring and underwriting credits, maintenance of overall credit quality, and preparation of reports for division leadership and respective governing bodies, including Loan Managers.
● In conjunction with the SBU Senior Manager of Operations, contribute to establishing plans, processes, and departmental strategies to ensure department goal setting aligns with long-term Arvest strategies.
● Provide training and development to credit staff, SBU underwriters and credit analysts to ensure they are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to accurately assess creditworthiness, mitigate risks, and make informed lending decisions.
● Analyze and measure the effectiveness of small business credit metrics and its alignment with Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to track progress, identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions to optimize lending practices while mitigating risks.
● Support the investigation process of loan related fraud involving customers, third parties, or associates. Partner with internal fraud teams to implement solutions and strategies for effective detection and prevention of future occurrences.
● Provide recommendations for procedural changes to align policies with evolving market conditions and current practices, ensuring consistency.
● Serve as an internal escalation point for the SBU team and make underwriting decisions within the appropriate risk boundaries established by senior leadership.
● Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

● Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work or military experience
● 6 years of related experience with an emphasis on financial statement analysis
● 5 years of commercial loan underwriting experience
● Previous management experience
● Strong leadership and influencing skills
● Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members
Preferred:
● Lending schools or graduate banking schools
● Previous portfolio management and analytics experience
