TASC’s Program Coordinator is a part-time position that reports to the Director of Program Design and Development and worksclosely with the After School Programming Manager, First Steps Coordinator, Youth Engagement Specialist, other Program Coordinators, and interns. This position will work across NWA, specifically in our Rogers and Springdale locations and are required to be onsite at least 3 days/week. This is an in-person, part-time position (20/hrs a week). Position begins January 7, 2024.

Responsibilities include:

❏ Leading TASC’s weekly after school activities (3-5 per week) as assigned by the After School Programming Manager. This will include a combination of volunteer activities, social events, art classes, and life skills workshops.

❏Transport teens between TASC locations and project locations as needed using TASC vehicles and maintaining appropriate van logs.

❏Guide individual teens and groups in participating in each assigned TASC activity through example, active participation, and engaged dialogue with the teens.

❏ Closely supervise all teens in your care including: awareness of all teen’s names, knowledge of how to access emergency contact info, familiarity with TASC emergency procedures, constant presence with the teens on our site or out in the community, and a “hands-on” approach to overseeing the safety and well being of all minors.

❏Ensure the proper closing of TASC facilities at the end of day through replacing materials, turning off lights, and locking doors.

❏Attendandactively participate in all Programming Staff training and meetings.

❏Contribute to creatively brainstorming project ideas during designated programming meetings.

❏Conduct weekly teen orientations as assigned to you.

❏ Mentorship Duties: You will maintain oversight of the teens assigned to you via the database on your “teen list”. This is your caseload; it will range from 10- 20 teens depending on our current volume. For each of these teens you will add important information to the case notes on their database account, perform once monthly check-ins via call/text/email/in person and notate accordingly, identify any additional TASC or community resources that may be beneficial for the client (i.e. Restore, Christmas Teen, BLS, First Steps, etc.), and generally retain responsibility for the care of this teen during their time at TASC.

❏ Accountability for your duties including: punctuality, maintaining a clean and orderly work space, and thorough communication in the event of vacations, sicknesses, emergencies, etc.

❏ Provide back end support to the Development Team through cooperative volunteer projects (i.e. Mayday Baskets, All-In Setup, etc.).

❏Follow all TASC rules and regulations.

❏Applicants must beavailable to work during the following time frame: 2-8 pm, Monday through Saturday. Your work schedule (dates, times, locations, and scope of work) will be provided to you by the After School Programming Manager monthly.

❏Participate in scheduled outreach events as assigned.

❏Attend work at your assigned location each shift. Excellent attendance and being on time are of the utmost importance to TASC.

❏Maintain good public relations with parents and families. Language andTranslation Duties:

❏Serve as a bilingual liaison, assisting with language translation as needed to ensure clear communication between English and Spanish-speaking participants and staff.

❏Facilitate bilingual communication during activities and events, to assist in ensuring language accessibility for all participants.

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous experience working with children is preferred.

Desire and ability to work with teens.

Must pass reference and background checks, including fingerprint and sex offender registry checks.

Must be comfortable driving. This is required.

Able to participate in physical activities.

Able to maintain attention and high energy or excitement for extended periods.

Ability to relate to one’s peer group.

Ability to accept supervision and guidance.

Ability to assist in teaching activities.

Good character, integrity, and adaptability.

Enthusiasm for supporting young people.

CPR/First Aid Certification (provided by TASC). Must beable to spend time outdoors and tolerate various weather conditions. Holidays Paid. Not eligible for benefits.

The Teen Action and Support Center is a 501c3 nonprofit organization which offers low-to-no-cost support services to teens and their families. Services include counseling & support groups, mentoring, volunteer service opportunities, innovative programming, and physical resources for teens in need.
