About Perry Ryan Theater Company

Perry Ryan Theater Company (PRTC) is a Bentonville-based home for musical theater. From rehearsals to curtain call, our work honors story, community, and the people who make both possible, bringing the excitement and quality of Broadway to Bentonville. Above all else, we seek to preserve the joy of musical theatre for future generations and all people.PRTC is made up of three main branches: PRTC Professional, PRTC Local, and PRTC Academy. PRTC’s Academy branch is dedicated to building 3 values into our students. Care, Confidence, and Competence within the Musical Theater discipline. Duties and Responsibilities

  • The House Manager shall be responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of all front-of-house activities for the Production, including but not limited to:

  • A. Pre-Performance

  • Design and implement a lobby design consistent with a Perry Ryan standard. Work with the director to ensure consistency between what is happening on stage lives well with what happens in the lobby.

  • Arrive at the theater at least 1.5 hours prior to each performance to conduct a pre-show walkthrough ensuring the lobby, restrooms, and front-of-house areas are clean, safe, and welcoming.

  • Oversee the set up and maintenance of entire lobby space for the duration of the run.

  • Recruit volunteer for house staff to include concessions, box office, ushers and any other staff deemed necessary to make lobby activities run smoothly. And make sure they are adequately trained to perform their duties well.

  • Ensure programs and promotional materials are prepared and distributed.

  • B. Performance Time

  • Oversee guest entry, seating, and late seating according to company policy.

  • Address patron concerns, seating issues, or emergencies with professionalism and courtesy.

  • Communicate with stage management regarding audience readiness, late seating holds, and performance start times.

  • Monitor lobby and public areas for safety and order throughout the performance.

  • C. Post-Performance

  • Supervise audience departure and lost & found procedures.

  • Ensure the lobby, house, restrooms, and public spaces are left in clean and orderly condition.

  • If needed, provide post-show reports to stage management.

  • Secure all front-of-house areas before leaving the venue.

  • Oversee strike of areas of responsibility- including volunteer recruitment to accomplish goal.
