Schedule: July 19th-July 24th (8:15am-6:30pm)

                  July 25th (8:15am-8:00pm)

Stipend: $1,500

Perry Ryan Theater Company (PRTC) is a Bentonville-based home for musical theater. From rehearsals to curtain call, our work honors story, community, and the people who make both possible, bringing the excitement and quality of Broadway to Bentonville. Above all else, we seek to preserve the joy of musical theatre for future generations and all people.PRTC is made up of three main branches: PRTC Professional, PRTC Local, and PRTC Academy. Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Education, the Bootcamp Choreographer is a passionate, experienced individual with a passion for both education and performance arts. The Bootcamp Choreographer will take the lead on helping guide the dance journey of campers, helping to prepare them for the final performance showcase. The Bootcamp Choreographer has two primary goals: create a final product that looks incredible, and instill the foundations of musical theatre performance in all campers.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in the day-to-day delivery of successful theater camp programming

  • Adhere to Perry Ryan culture in all offerings, and serve as a representative of Perry Ryan when interacting with the public

  • Foster a supportive and creative environment for Perry Ryan Summer Camps

  • Help prepare classroom materials for successful programming

  • Promote camp safety

  • Create, teach, and instruct campers in choreography for selected musical pieces, and own all tasks involved with delivery of a successful, musical cabaret style showcase

  • Lead dance rehearsals for campers, ensuring proper preparation prior to showcase

  • Build the foundations of strong dance performance in all students, ensuring proper technique and foundational learning.

  • Collaborate with Education Director to mark movement benchmarks, promoting level appropriate teaching methodology.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA degree (or in progress) in Dance, Performing Arts, or related discipline

  • 3+ year experience working with children (babysitting, youth groups, childrens’ church groups, summer camps, etc)

  • Ability to site read/ play piano

  • Previous experience in performance arts

  • Applicants must be 18+ to apply

  • Proven ability to interact successfully with students ages 9-17

  • Able to stand, walk, and interact with children and adults for extended periods of time

  • Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable personal transportation required

  • Adherence to Perry Ryan Standards of Education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in theater education with students of all ranges

  • Previous experience with Perry Ryan productions, both educational and non

  • Previous teaching experience

  • Understanding of conflict resolution strategies

  • First aid certification

  • Previous experience in dance performance

  • Understanding and experience in conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques

  • A desire to learn and invest in a growing education theater program

  • 2+ Years in leadership position, specifically managing teams
