About The Position
The Workday Systems Analyst supports the configuration, reporting, and ongoing administration of the Workday enterprise platform across the AWE ecosystem. This role performs intermediate-level functional configuration and report development while partnering closely with People Services, Finance, Payroll, and Technology teams to ensure accurate data, reliable reporting, and consistent system operations.
Working under the guidance of the Workday Systems Manager, the Workday Systems Analyst contributes to the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Workday platform. This role supports configuration activities, develops advanced reports and calculated fields, assists with testing and release readiness, and helps ensure the system operates reliably and in alignment with organizational needs.
Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to translate business needs into effective Workday configuration and reporting solutions while supporting enterprise-wide system operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Configuration and Administration
- Perform configuration within assigned Workday modules, including HCM, Absence, Benefits, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Financials, and other functional areas as needed.
- Support maintenance of the Workday Business Process Framework (BPF), including condition rules, routing logic, notifications, and security role assignments.
- Assist with configuration migrations between tenants in accordance with established change management and governance processes.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and configuration changes.
- Apply Workday best practices and established governance standards when supporting configuration activities.
Reporting and Analytics
- Build, test, and maintain custom Workday reports to support operational and strategic decision-making across the ecosystem.
- Develop calculated fields, report prompts, and data filters to support advanced reporting needs.
- Support the development and maintenance of dashboards, report scheduling, and automated report distributions.
- Respond to ad hoc reporting and data requests from internal stakeholders across the AWE ecosystem.
- Assist in validating and reconciling data to ensure accuracy and integrity of reporting outputs.
System Support and Operations
- Provide support for Workday-related issues and inquiries from stakeholders.
- Assist in troubleshooting system issues and identifying appropriate solutions in collaboration with the Workday Systems Manager and technical partners.
- Support testing activities related to Workday feature releases, configuration updates, and internal deployments.
- Assist with data validation, system audits, and reconciliation activities to maintain data integrity.
- Contribute to the development of training materials, job aids, and user documentation supporting effective system use.
- Provide end-user guidance and training to support adoption and effective use of Workday functionality.
- Participate in cross-functional projects related to enterprise systems.
Governance and Continuous Improvement
- Follow established Workday governance, security, and data privacy standards.
- Monitor Workday release documentation and participate in testing and evaluation of new functionality.
- Apply Workday best practices and release guidance to improve system configuration and reporting capabilities.
- Participate in ongoing training and certification efforts to expand Workday expertise and platform knowledge.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system usability, reporting quality, and operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support evolving organizational needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business administration, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered for exceptional candidates.
- 3–5 years of hands-on Workday configuration and administration experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing Workday reports, including calculated fields and advanced reporting capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of Workday business process frameworks, reporting tools, integrations, and security concepts.
- Workday Pro certification in at least one functional area preferred; equivalent Workday training or demonstrated configuration experience may be considered.
- Experience supporting testing activities related to Workday releases, system enhancements, or configuration changes.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with strong attention to detail while meeting deadlines.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data, translate business requirements into effective system solutions, and recommend solutions to complex issues.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and functional areas.
- Demonstrated focus on user experience and delivery of effective service outcomes.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- High level of professional integrity and the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion.

Physical Demands: In the work environment described, position requires utilizing a computer and a telephone for prolonged periods of time and good eye/hand coordination, bending and stretching, and physical stamina to lift and transport a minimum of 10 pounds. Work Environment: Work is performed full-time (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.) in a professional, climate-controlled office environment with standard office equipment, including computers, printers, and telephones. This role requires working in an open setting near colleagues. The noise level is typically low to moderate. The role also requires regular interaction with internal team members in a professional and courteous manner. Some travel may be required, including overnight trips on occasion. A flexible schedule may be necessary to accommodate business needs, including occasional evening and weekend work hours.
