Summary:

Responsible for the overall coordination and oversight of all AC Point of Care Testing activities. Includes selection of appropriate instrumentation or test methodology, developing and maintaining an appropriate quality assurance program, monitoring testing and QA processes including recording and reporting of results, ensuring program compliance with applicable regulations, ensuring a safe working environment, identification of appropriate staff to perform testing, and training and competency testing of testing personnel.

Description

1. Researches, evaluates and recommends instrumentation, testing systems and testing development opportunities then leads implementation and troubleshoot issues.

2. Serves as Technical Consultant and as liaison with the federal government and accrediting bodies.

3. Reviews procedures/on site testing for safety guidelines and appropriate personal protective devices.

4. Maintains knowledge of connectivity.

5. Implements proficiency testing and quality control program.

6. Coordinates instrument calibration verification, linearity checks, other periodic instrument function checks, instrument maintenance, and reviews of data.

7. Develops and maintains written policies and procedures.

8. Develops performance improvement plans and reporting.

9. Reviews QC and testing records, performance reports, and documented corrective actions, proficiency testing activities and distributes proficiency materials maintains appropriate training and competency testing.

10. Performs computer functions including reports/graphs.

11. Coordinates Point of Care Testing and makes on site rounds.

12. Performs other duties as assigned.
