The Principal Trainer is responsible for mastering both an EPIC application and Arkansas Children’s operational workflows. This position specializes in one or more applications and take the lead in the development and implementation of the training program for their respective application(s). The Principal Trainer is responsible for building, testing, and maintaining the training environment, as well as developing and maintain training materials. Responsible for ensuring updates and new software releases are communicated and training is facilitated.Additional Information:

Experience with Training/Public Speaking/Curriculum Development
Clinical experience preferred
Epic experience preferred
Basic Computer Skills (Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer operations)
Epic aptitude exam (Sphinx) as part of the interview process

Responsibilities for this position include:
Train Epic workflows and personalization to providers
Educate end users on reporting procedures
Assist as a class proctor
Analyze workflows
Create training materials and curriculum
Onboard new staff members

EPIC Certifications Specific to Assigned Roles - EPICDescription
1. Translates the functionality of EPIC system configuration and workflow validations into a training environment development, easy to understand classroom presentations, and prepare and manage requirements for training sessions in collaboration with the other team members.
2. Trains additional trainers within the organization, as well as provides training for new hires, and coordinates training for new software releases and updates.
3. Develops and implements credentialed training program and materials to support end users of EPIC applications and clinical information systems and Develops and maintains the master training environment for application module(s) they are responsible for.
4. Works closely with application champions to provide quality training reflective of actual clinical and organizational workflows.
5. Ensures updates and new software releases are communicated and training is facilitated as well as participation in any upgrade testing.
6. Achieves and maintains certification from EPIC in the module(s) responsible for training.
7. Advances knowledge through EPIC Badge earning and cross trains to advance knowledge of EPIC system.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
