Description

1. Reviews information from all sources (chart, team report, patient evaluations, etc.) prior to initiating physical therapy treatment. Completes a comprehensive physical therapy evaluation appropriate for the age and developmental level of the patient to identify skilled physical therapy needs. Establishes a plan of care and measurable goals appropriate for the clinical impairments identified at the evaluation. The patient and caregivers are included in the process.

2. Competent with implementing and modifying the treatment plan using appropriate modalities, interventions, and equipment. Implements evidence-based practice into decision making processes. Seeks consultation from others as necessary.

3. Documents findings and recommendations from therapy sessions according to established policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory and reimbursement guidelines.

4. Demonstrates knowledge of normal growth and development; and an understanding of the range of treatment appropriate for the patient's diagnosis or developmental stage

5. Organizes patient and administrative (documentation, meetings, etc.) time efficiently to meet productivity standards ensuring that all patient care for the section is completed daily. Performs billing processes according to established department procedures.

6. Begins developing clinical expertise and professional skills through interactions with team members, self-study, and other continuing education activities. Serves as a mentor for observation students

7. Demonstrates knowledge and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, and specific patient treatment protocols regarding patient care.

8. Maintains a positive attitude while demonstrating the adaptability necessary to effectively respond to changing departmental needs

9. Communicates information clearly and concisely in a manner that is not offensive. Helps others understand and retain the message. Utilizes active listening skills

10. Committed to providing a positive patient experience by modeling Arkansas Children’s values to patients, families, guests, and team members

11. Completes other duties as assigned.
