Description and Requirements

As a Senior Director of Fresh Foods, this role oversees strategic development, creative execution, and tactical operations for fresh categories in retail clubs. This position partners with Acosta clients and customers to grow market share, maximize profitability, and ensure best-in-class execution across meat, produce, bakery, and food service operations.

What will you do?

  • Partner with clients and customers to maximize profitability and achieve strategic objectives.

  • Manage, influence, and expand customer and client relationships.

  • Develop strategies to address defined opportunities and implement solutions that impact customer success.

  • Coordinate customer needs with the Director of Fresh Foods and align initiatives across the team to meet objectives.

  • Develop and communicate category plans addressing client priorities, opportunities, and expectations.

  • Create goals that support the strategic vision of the organization.

  • Evaluate the Fresh Operations team's performance against established goals to ensure client and customer needs are met.

  • Establish budgetary guidelines and ensure team targets are achieved.

  • Review and approve program manuals and merchandising tools prior to deployment.

  • Continually identify and communicate opportunities for improvement.

  • Provide feedback on the effectiveness of customer and client strategies, selling programs, and initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of retail experience, with preference for fresh category expertise (meat, produce, bakery, or food service).

  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Strong ability to work independently and autonomously.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with consistent follow-through and organizational abilities.

  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision-making, and financial analysis.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 50%.

  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including weekends.

  • Certification in food safety preferred.

  • Ability to drive on behalf of Acosta Sales & Marketing; any DUI/DWI conviction in the past 36 months is disqualifying.
