Position Summary

The role of Network Administrator I reports to the Information Technology Infrastructure Manager. This position is an entry-level position responsible for assisting in the management and maintenance of the healthcare system's servers and server infrastructure. This role involves working assigned tasks in a highly cooperative and customer-oriented team environment. This position performs work under the close supervision of senior systems administrators and Information Services management team.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned work and tasks.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of server operating systems, applications, and hardware.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting to resolve server and application issues.
  • Provide technical support to end-users.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate degree in information technology or related field, or equivalent work experience (would consider CCNA or CompTIA Network+ in lieu of degree).
  • Licensure/Certifications: N/A
  • Experience: Requires basic knowledge of and experience with Windows and Linux server operating systems; basic knowledge of and experience with VMWare; basic knowledge of and experience with server hardware and storage area networks; basic knowledge of and experience with TCP/IP networks. Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Work Environment: This position spends the majority of time sitting (up to 80% of work time) with frequent walking of short distances (up to 20% of work time). This position performs repetitive type motions (up to 80% of work time). This position functions within a clerical/computer sciences office environment.
