Summary of Job Duties:

This position supports IT Services and the university community through the development, testing and implementation of custom applications, integrations, and automations. Works with infrastructure team members to design and set up hosting, storage, and development environments. Maintains expertise in a variety of programming languages and frameworks, including low code tools. Provides guidance on best practices and helps create scalable strategies. Acts as a resource to campus partners, providing sustainable, scalable solutions that other units can implement and maintain. Works with other employees on integrations, customizations, and automation to increase the quality of service that our team can provide to campus. Works with security, accessibility and user experience experts to make sure their work meets our standards in these areas. Helps create and maintain documentation and training materials as needed.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Fluent in a variety of programming languages

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a project team-oriented environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

Preferred qualifications:

  • Able to work in an environment using both on-prem and cloud systems

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform

  • Experience with Micrsoft's Azure App Service Environment

  • Experience with DevOps

  • Strong computing and scripting skills

  • At least 5 years experience working in a higher education environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven ability working with diverse groups of people in gaining consensus and fostering a multi-cultural environment

  • Demonstrated ability and interest in planning and providing high-quality service delivery and implementing related new technologies

  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and articulate IT solutions to peers, leadership, and others in the campus community

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with a high degree of energy, initiative, and organizational ability

  • Demonstrated success working in and supporting a team-oriented approach to providing services, troubleshooting issues and strategic planning

  • Strong character value of teamwork, service orientation, establishing and maintaining relationships, competitive when it comes to problem solving, and calm in the face of pressure situations
