TheatreSquared 2026 Apprentice Program
Position Summary
The TheatreSquared Apprentice Program offers an early-career opportunity for emerging theatre professionals to gain practical experience in a professional producing theatre environment. Apprentices work alongside department leaders, gaining hands-on training, mentorship, and insight into day-to-day operations within their area of focus within the theatre. This program provides an immersive learning experience, encouraging participants to develop their skills and grow their professional networks, and deepen their understanding of how a leading regional theatre operates.
This position is part of the TheateSquared’s Education Department and reports directly to the Director of Education.
Position Available: Apprentice Production
Employment Dates: Monday, January 12, 2026 – June 2026 (*exact date to be announced)
Compensation: $640 per week, salary non-exempt.
Schedule: 35 - 40 hours per week
Paid Time Off: 8 PTO days and Holidays (PTO is not paid out upon separation)
Production Department
The Production Department oversees all technical and logistical elements required to bring TheatreSquared’s productions to life. This apprentice will gain exposure to the production process from design and rehearsal through performance and beyond, learning the critical balance between artistry, planning, and execution that defines a successful production. The production areas may include scenic, props, lighting, sound, and costumes; however, the curriculum will ultimately be developed in consideration of the apprentice’s interests and in discussion with the Education and Production Department leaders once an apprentice is selected.

- Early-career theatre professional or recent graduate seeking hands-on experience in a professional theatre environment.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

Professional Development & Outcomes
Apprentices can expect to complete the program with a deeper understanding of their chosen field, a stronger professional portfolio, and valuable mentorship connections. They will develop the confidence and practical experience to take the next step in their theatre career in theatre production.
