Reports To: This position will report to the Executive Director.

Job Overview: The Gallery Operations Associate forms and maintains relationships with other organizations in order to strengthen Art Ventures’ outreach. This includes writing and distributing marketing materials, press releases, and other promotional copy to media outlets; reaching out to community partners to coordinate collaborative events and programs; requesting donations as needed from community partners; and working with schools to plan and schedule the Art Ventures’ K-12 Gallery Initiative Program.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Assists with day-to-day gallery management (signing artwork in and out, following daily protocol.)

Assists with the hanging and takedown of exhibitions both onsite and offsite.

Creates and updates workflows and protocol for day-to-day gallery operations.

Builds relationships with community partners by acting as a point of contact.

Works as liaison for schools when planning and scheduling the K-12 Gallery Initiative.

Composes press releases and promotional copy for all events and major exhibitions.

Distributes press releases and promotional copy to all community partners, media contacts, and board members.

Updates media contacts on a monthly basis.

Creates and schedules monthly newsletter for artists.

Assists Curatorial Associate with editing documents and filling out spreadsheets in the exhibition folders.

Assists Executive Director with creating marketing materials and strategies around events.

Requests donations of food, beverages, and supplies for events as needed.

Provides monthly updated spreadsheets of articles and media mentions to Website Manager.

Uses Salesforce to log all interactions with artists.

Qualifications: Bachelor Degree Minimum 2 years professional experience.
